  An Even Tan for Face, Body and Legs
 


The SmartLamp is the only lamp that has been scientifically engineered to deliver the perfectly even, dark, and youthful looking tan. How do we do it? Everyone knows that the face, body and legs tan at a different rate and to differing degrees if exposed to the same amount of UVA and UVB energy for the same given session time. Therefore, LightSources used three separate proprietary LSI tanning phosphors to deliver the optimal amount of UV tanning energy to the face, body and legs.


  • The face is bathed in UV energy that is very high in long-wave (360nm - 390nm) UVA energy (like an HPF lamp) that effectively oxidizes (brown) the melanin that is at the skin's surface and also that which is deep below. However, UVB energy delivered via SmartLamp is very low (unlike HPF lamps or traditional low pressure tanning lamp) in the photo-aging wavelengths (320nm - 340nm). This results in a reduced risk of premature facial wrinkling. Moreover, the UVB (melanin producing) concentration also results in the most effective Vitamin D production of our skin. In short, LightSources engineers the lamp to provide a superior facial tan with an excellent Vitamin D production and little to no photo-aging (wrinkling) effects.

  • As the body or torso area are less exposed to sunlight or UV energy, the lamp delivers a carefully measured amount of UVB and an ample amount of UVA to oxidize the melanin produced by the measured amount of UVB energy. In short, the body and torso area are tanned with LightSources’ proprietary LSI phosphors that is as gentle and effective as tanning in the late morning sun.

  • The leg area is notorious for being very difficult to tan. The SmartLamp uses another proprietary LSI phosphor that is abundant in both, UVB and UVA energy. This leads to copious amounts of melanin production that the amount of UVA can oxidize and brown. In short, the leg area phosphor is as intense and darkening as the desert sun.

Now, sum up all engineered tanning segments and you’ll experience the “ultimate even tan” – Don’t get mad – “GET SMART!”

SmartLamp enhances Vitamin D Production

Our SmartLamp glass and phosphor technology enables us to produce a lamp with energy between 280 and 300 nanometers where Vitamin D is produced most effectively by our skin. All other competitors use general visible lighting type glass designed to filter out most of this short-wave UVB energy.
